SOME POEMS I WROTE DURING/FROM A STUDENT READING
1. one of my poems has a penis in it and it wets the bed yes it's me at the center of all this beauty 2. we talked about sleds sledding on other sleds thank you for that you small town girl 3. all you need to know is Mick a 400lbs woman stuck in the bathroom is listening to everything you say 4. raking the leaves a regatta of many colored sails drinking lemonade we're talking about me now swimming naked in the ocean 5. Thornton and whatever his name was holstered their pistols everybody must get stoned 6. city of city of circling crowds someone stomps his face out with a golf shoe I sing top 40 from his bicycle 7. a few weeks ago walking into a corner store I punched the well-wisher Keisha 8. I stood in front of a painting too long I thought maybe people change I imagined tomato farmers flying everywhere 9. eager as ever I cash my birthday check I am only asking to be remembered 10. it wasn't easy rotting away in prison with no hands on the internet 11. the FBI ratted out everyone they knew nobody knew what they were talking about I HAVE BEEN DRAWN  (from the creator of "knife girl" (and other things)) HELP ME WITH MY HOMEWORK I'm supposed to write 5 two-line poems or five 2-line poems. Here are some I came up with today, mostly from staring at and thinking about "The Oxford Book of American Poetry" edited by David Lehman, who is my teacher. Which 5/five should I do?
